Blessed are the poor in spirit, for there is the kingdom of heaven.

Amen!

The poor are blessed, not because one day they will go to heaven, but because in the Kingdom of Heaven, rich people give their money to the poor and spiritually rich people will encourage those who are spiritually poor.

Jesus invites us to live a new way, to join in with his mission to bless the world, to be part of this thing called The Kingdom of Heaven or Kingdom of God.

Every one of us has a role or purpose in this kingdom. Some of us will be in Communities (capital C), others will be in missional orders, some will be in networks, others in congregations. Perhaps some will be in teams, circles, groups, or maybe even brigades or troupes. Whatever the structure of the church, it will be a structure fit for purpose; to participate in the ongoing mission of God in the world.
