Never too old

There was this guy called Joel and God spoke to him…. This is what God said:

‘In the last days, God says,
I will pour out my Spirit on all people.
Your sons and daughters will prophesy,
your young men will see visions,
your old men will dream dreams.
Even on my servants, both men and women,
I will pour out my Spirit in those days,
and they will prophesy.
I will show wonders in the heaven above
and signs on the earth below’

Older people matter to God – they always have and they always will.  There are loads of older people in the bible – all heroes of the faith – faithfully hanging on to the truth and being part of the God’s plan right to the end of their lives – people who have been willing to let God shape their lives even when their eyesight has been failing or they feel too old be useful

One of the best things about St Michael’s is that we are a family of all ages – older, younger, all in it together… and another great thing is a group called ‘never too old’.

Never too old

This group has one thing on its heart: To bless older people in Twerton, and to draw them to Jesus.

We do many things and here are just a few of them:

Thursday Communion

If you are free on Thursday between 10-11am then why don’t you join us for a communion service which we have each week. It’s a simple time – - and we have a great time together. It’s at the church and we round off with coffee, tea and biscuits (Jaffa’s seem to be popular at the moment!)  See you there

Day Time Group

A new day-time group, led by Tim Thurgood, meets twice a month on the second and fourth Thursday in the month.  The meetings are open to anyone who is able to make it, and the programme will vary from social activities through to Bible Studies and Prayer and possibly some trips out.

Rose Cottage Cafe

And don’t miss out on the fantastic food at the cafe at Rose Cottage every Monday, Wednesday and Thursday… Very reasonable prices, lovely environment, fab food! Unmissable!
