Advent is a wonderfully counter-cultral Christian tradition. Just as everyone around is grearing up their lives for Christmas, planning, buying, worrying, travelling, partying, Christians for centuries have taken the season of Advent to heart and deliberately chosen to take time out to reflect, watch and wait.
