Instead of St Michael’s being a church that gathers for worship, teaching each Sunday, we are better described as being a church where everyone is involved in one way or another with God’s mission. Mission is our main thing. Worship, teaching, community and discipleship come after. Not that they are unimportant. Absoulutely not. But rather than starting with these things we start with God’s mission, his love for our community and for its people, and try to get involved with his purposes as they become clear. To do that we are forming numerous small groups all with different purposes and missions of their own, all hoping to love God and love neighbour and to invite others to join us as we follow Jesus and build our lives upon him.
